Monash Business School

Renovated in 2017, Monash University’s new Business School was designed to deliver a learning environment that bridges the gap
between education and the corporate world. Working with an existing 1990s style office building at the university’s Caulfield Campus, NH Architecture had a clear vision for the project, including the construction of a new function Pavilion on the existing level eight terrace. Clad in striking gold Adeka panels, the Pavilion is now a local landmark, visible from Caulfield Racecourse, Caulfield train station and major thoroughfare Dandenong Road.

The gold Adeka panels flow directly into standing seam cladding, which in turn, flow into the flat lock profile —

all without the use of flashings. This seamless design necessitated hours of in-house design, prototyping and pre-testing to ensure the façade would remain completely water-tight. Industry Roofing & Cladding adapted each of the profiles to create a fully integrated connection that delivers a flawlessly uninterrupted finish.

With their diamond shape, the ‘fish scale’ surface of the Adeka panels creates a sense of depth and textural detail, and provides the building with a highly effective interlocking skin. The sleek, sophisticated look adds an air of understated elegance to the Pavilion, demonstrating the true versatility of metal cladding.
